Maotai or Moutai originated during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) where northern Chinese distillers introduced advanced techniques to local processes to create a distinctive type of baijiu.
Produced by the state-owned Kweichow Moutai Company, the beverage is distilled through a shorter period from fermented sorghum, using simple materials grain and water to produce complex flavour.
TASTING NOTES: Fresh and light, defined by its sweet aroma of apple and pear and long lingering fragrance.
